Dr. Nicholas Ray
Nick is an Assistant Professor and oversees the research group. His research interests center on the biogeochemistry and ecology of aquatic ecosystems and how these ecosystems respond to change. Nick earned his Ph.D. in Biology at Boston University and B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Environmental Science and Technology at the University of Maryland. Prior to joining the School of Marine Science & Policy at the University of Delaware, he was a postdoc at Cornell University and Stockholm University.

Hollin Williams
Hollin is a first year M.S. student in the lab. She graduated with a B.S. in Geobiology with a minor in Marine Science from Penn State University. During her time at Penn State, she worked in a geochemistry lab studying stable isotopes of coral fragments. As a M.S. student at the University of Delaware, she will be completing projects involving gas emissions of small ponds and the influence of bioturbating animals on nitrogen cycling.

Dr. Simone Cardoso
Dr. Simone Cardoso is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Zoology, Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) - Brazil and is currently a Visiting Scholar in the lab. She is a permanent professor at the Graduate Program in Biodiversity and Nature Conservation and the Principal Investigator of the Laboratory of Plankton Ecology (LABEP) at UFJF. In her research group, alongside undergraduate and graduate students, she conducts basic and applied research on aquatic ecology. Currently, her interests are focused on improving the understanding and predictability of the effects of anthropogenic changes on aquatic ecosystems functions, often using planktonic communities as study models.
